A. RACER ELIGIBILITY AND CLASSIFICATION
This Section "A" Supplemental Rules apply in the Everglades Cup series and are subject to, and subservient to Section B. of this Supplemental Rules addendum.
- Women's 12+ (122-250cc) (Must be 14 to race 250cc). This is a biological female class. Former WMX professional licensed racers are eligible for class.
- No “A” class level racers may compete in any “Youth” class. AMA Racing Rule, Section 1.1.I.5.
- A rider may choose at any time to advance to a higher rider classification.
- Except for Youth classes, participation in, or advancement to a higher class, by any rider, will result in permanent advancement to that higher class (in like activity) in other AMA-sanctioned competition.
- Racers may not participate in a C class if they have ever:
a. Participated at the Loretta Lynn National main event, (not including Area or Regional Qualifiers) in any previous year in any class, with the exception of any Micro, Girls or Youth Beginner (2011) class, as well as any Women Amateur class racers finishing outside of the top 10;
b. Received any type of OEM factory support in any class (excluding OEM contingency and trackside support);
c. Held an AMA professional motorcycle racing license in any discipline;
d. Once qualified for the Everglades Cup Main Event, racers may not voluntarily advance or regress in class prior to competing at the Main Event.
e. In Youth / Beginner Classes Riders with transponder lap-times in Area races that are 15% faster in the race, then their own qualifying lap times for that race, shall be reviewed and penalized if it is determined the rider is sandbagging. Penalties are at the sole discretion of the officials.
f. Challenges to racer eligibility must be received by the AMA, no later than 15 days from the race day. Challenges must be in writing and send via email to the following email address: MXmanager@epicmxevents.com. Racer eligibility challenges received after this date will be accepted at the sole discretion of the District managers.
B. ENTRY-LEVEL RACER ELIGIBILITY AND CLASSIFICATION
1) The following applies only to the entry-level classesnormally described as Beginner, D-class, Learner class or any other Developmental class description. Where these rules conflict with the standard rules, these supplemental rules shall govern.
a) Riders are eligible for a Beginner class if they have less than 1 year of racing experience. Following the 1-year anniversary, riders shall be promoted unless the number of rider entries places the rider within the entry-level class.
b) Beginner and Youth riders who show extraordinary improvement above the field within their race class or enter the class with a transponder lap-time that is 15% faster than the rest of the field in 4 or more moto’s, may be reviewed and possibly subject to advancement to the next class, at the discretion of Epic MX officials.
c) Some advanced or large jumps that would pose a danger to other beginner riders, may be deemed to be a “no-jump” obstacle and entry-level riders will be instructed not to jump these obstacles. These jumps will be determined at the sole discretion of the track officials. Penalties for infractions are determined by the track official and may include docking positions or disqualification.
d) Riders who enter and compete in other race series either with or without AMA sanctioning, that do not offer a beginner or other developmental class, shall not be penalized or promoted based solely upon participation in such an event in a non-developmental class.
The preceding section B is subject to the sole discretion of the District officials, track officials, promotors and/or track owners when it is in regard to safety.
Riders may voluntarily advance in class prior to competing and take 100% of their points earned into the next class, provided that less than 50% of the series or moto’s have taken place. Riders who stay in the Beginner class after 50% of the series has run, and fall subject to paragraph B.1.a, may be involuntarily moved up. In the case where a rider is involuntarily moved, they may only bring 50% of their points to the next class.
C. MACHINE ELIGIBILITY AND CLASSIFICATION
- No electric machines in Race 17 “Anything Go’s” class. Electric motorcycles are only permitted in the Mini-E class.
- Only production tires readily available to the general public may be used in any class.
- Mini-E (4-7) Limited Class Restrictions: Battery Energy limited to 1.5kWh. Maximum (adjusted length) wheelbase 41 inches; Maximum wheel size 12 inches; Maximum seat height 28 inches. Retrofitted 12-inch wheels are permitted. OEM parts must be used.
- Limited Classes:
- AMA Limited Class Rules apply; refer to the AMA 2025 Motocross Limited Clarification Chart for details HERE.
- All parts of the exhaust system as designed by the manufacturer (OEM) for a particular model and year must remain stock. Updating to a more recent year exhaust is prohibited unless the OEM part number is the same. The silencer end cap may be changed for the sole purpose of inserting a spark arrestor, so long as there is no performance enhancement.
- Changes that are cosmetic in nature are allowed, so long as there is no performance advantage.
- Limited motorcycles are eligible for a non-limited class.
- Violations of the Limited Class rules as determined by the protest process or by the event referee may result in disqualification from the class, or at the Qualifier level, re-assignment to the appropriate class if deemed unintentional by the event referee. A second violation within one calendar year may result in a disqualification from the class and a suspension from AMA competition for one year.
- For mini-cycle classes 85cc and Supermini, fuel injection is permitted only if it is standard equipment on the production model.
C. REGISTRATION
- Proof of age must be available upon request by Epic MX Events at any time.
Racer Age:
- For all Youth classes, the age of the racer on January 1, 2025, will determine their age for the remainder of the year. A racer may move to the next higher age class in the Youth Division only if they will be eligible to do so at any time during the calendar year.
- For all other Amateur classes, the age of the racer is determined as of the first day of Championship competition.
- For all Vet classes, the age of the racer is determined as of the first day of Championship competition.
- A racer must be 14 years of age on the day of the Area Qualifier in order to ride a 250cc machine in any class.
- A racer must be 12 years of age on the day of the Area Qualifier in order to ride a Supermini in any class.
- Racers under the age of 18 years must have both parents present to sign the minor release, or an AMA annual minor release. If the annual release is used, at least one parent or guardian with notarized guardianship form must be present as required by the AMA Rules and Regulations, in order to participate.
- Qualifying Fees: It is possible, in some Area Qualifiers where the event is held during a regularly scheduled local event, in order to participate in the qualifying program at the Area Qualifier, racers will be charged a program fee by Epic MX Events and may also have to pay a separate event registration fee by the event organizer. These will be highlighted prior to the event if they occur.
D. QUALIFYING PROCEDURES
- Qualifying for the Everglades Cup Championship requires:
- A two-step process of qualification from an Area Qualifier to the future Main Event.
- Classes are assigned by Epic MX Events based off of lap-time at the Area Qualifying events.
- Racers may enter any number of race classes at the Area Qualifier level and up to 4 classes at the Main Event level.
- Racers may enter up to two (2) Area Qualifiers if they choose.
- In some geographic regions there may be more than 40 racers eligible to participate in the Area Qualifier. If there are more racers at the Area Qualifying event, than the starting gate can accommodate, then division races will be run.
- Racers in any 51cc or Mini-E class (“Micro” classes) may attempt to qualify in multiple Micro classes at the Area Qualifier level; however, they may only compete in one Micro class at the Championship.
- A 2-moto format will apply to all Area Qualifiers; a 2-moto format will apply to the Championship Event.
- Qualifier Event Weekend Schedule (weather permitting): • Thursday: On-line Registration closes at 2:00 pm EST. • Friday: Registration, Qualifying (4 Rotations) • Saturday: LCQ held by schedule (3 laps), Site Lap & Race Motos • Sunday: Site Lap & Motos
- Qualifier Moto Length (weather and conditions permitting): • 10-minutes: Micro, Mini E, 51cc and Novice classes
• 30-minutes: Open Pro Sport and 250 Pro Sport • 20-minutes: 125 Alpha & B, Schoolboy 1 & 2, College boy
• 15-minutes: All other classes • 4 Laps: Consolation Race (if any)
- Advancement to Championship: Racers who qualify in multiple Areas will advance to the Championship from the Area with the best finish. In the case of multiple equal finishes, the racer will be selected from the Area where they first qualified. If a rider qualifies in multiple areas, they forfeit the previous Area finishing position and all other riders move up as if the advancing rider was not present in the previous Area Qualifier.
- Area Qualifier Advancement: Racers finishing in the top positions listed below are guaranteed to advance from Area Qualifiers to the Championship.

E. Championship Final PROCEDURES
- Final Championship Roster: The final Championship Roster will consist of 42 racers per class.
- Class Limit: Racers may register, qualify and compete in up to 4 classes. Micro class racers may practice in one (1) Micro class and one (1) 65cc class only, if eligible. Racers are eligible to be an Alternate in as many classes as they desire.
- Transponders: Transponders are required for Friday qualifying sessions and all motos. All riders are required to have transponders for Friday qualifying. Rental transponders will be available.
F. Alternates
1) Alternates: Alternate selection at the Championship is based on Alternate Ranking which is Finish position in the qualifier similar to the Advancement method for guaranteed spots.
a. The highest place finish at the first qualifier has the first option.
b. The highest place finish at the second qualifier has the second option, and so on.
c. YOU MUST REGISTER AS AN ALTERNATE to be considered for placement.
2) In the event a racer registers for the Championship and subsequently attends another area and betters their finish, they must notify Epic MX Events by email (results@epicmxevents.com) in order to upgrade their ranking.
3) Forfeiting Gate Position. A racer who fails to report to staging in Moto 1 without explanation forfeits their start-gate position. This applies to Moto 1 only.
4) All racers who hold the #1 spot from an Area event, must run a red background number plate at the Championship. The following number plate and number color schemes shall apply at the Championship (only), for all other riders:

H. RACE FINISHES
- At the Area Qualifier level, racers must receive a numeric finish position in at least one moto in order to advance to the Championship level.
- In order to receive a numeric Finish position in a moto, a racer must complete at least one-half the laps of the leader and take the checkered flag. At the Area Qualifier level, a racer who fails to complete at least one full lap will receive a “DNS” (Did Not Start). At the Championship, a racer who fails to report to staging will receive a “DNS” (Did Not Start). In all other instances, the racer will be considered a “DNF” (Did Not Finish). A “DNF” results in moto points equal to the total number of racers in the class, but never less than 20.
- A racer who has qualified in one area and wishes to race in a different area, may use his best finish as his qualifying finish for the Championship, however as a consequence, will give up his previous finish to an alternate for that previous event.
- Disqualification: A “Moto DQ” (“Disqualification”) results in 1 point for that moto only. A “Class DQ” results in exclusion from the class results in all motos for that class only. A “Meet DQ” results in exclusion from all classes in all motos for the entire meet.
I. PROTESTS & PENALTIES
- Protests must comply with the AMA Racing Rulebook. Protests must be in writing and delivered to the event referee no later than 30 minutes after results have been posted. The AMA Racing Protest Form and applicable fees apply and will be made available from the Official.
- In the event of a technical protest involving a teardown or removal of the engine from the frame, the protested racer may elect for the inspection to occur either before or after the final moto involving the protested machine. In the event the inspection is made after the final moto, the machine will be impounded between motos and/or the engine sealed pending the inspection, with the exception that minor repairs and maintenance may be made under Epic MX Events supervision.
- Technical inspections will be conducted in private by race officials and any technical persons deemed necessary by race officials to conduct the inspection. The protesting racer and the protested racer may have an observer present during the inspection process.
- The claiming rule value is 1.5 the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) at the Final event.
- Penalties will be assessed at the discretion of the official based on the severity of the offense, and may include one or more of the following: position(s), lap(s), time adjustment, disqualification, suspension, loss of championship points, fine, probation, warning, etc. In the Limited classes, if a violation is deemed by the referee to be cosmetic in nature, with no performance advantage or willful misconduct involved, a warning or fine may be issued in lieu of disqualification.
