Many national riders pursue a spot at Loretta's and at Everglades Cup. Some make it to Nationals and some do not. Either way, this race is not an alternative to Loretta's, it is in addition to Loretta's. At Lorettas, nearly 20,000 racers attempt to qualify in 36 classes for the 1,512 available positions at Loretta's. There are 18,488 riders who do not make it to Nationals and have nothing challenging to pursue. In addition to being one of the most sought after awards in Motocross, (the Championship Ring) the Everglades Cup will not interfere with any Loretta's event and will fill that spot for riders who aren't going to Nationals.
With other races, there is a wide-range of skills in the same race class. Some riders may never experience a win due to the vastly different skill-levels.

Anyone from anywhere in the country can race the Everglades Cup if you can qualify. Every class at the Championship has its own #1 plate and Championship Ring, including Novice class. The Everglades Cup stands alone in prestige and accolade. Points from the Everglades Cup do not interfere with any AMA national series you may be racing.
